Qld: Search for missing man expands

The search for an elderly man, missing in suburban Brisbane since Saturday night, has
been expanded.

Eighty-two-year-old ERNEST STANLEY YATES was last seen by his son about midnight Saturday
at their home in Grenade Street, Cannon Hill.

Police are concerned for his safety because he requires regular medication.

A police spokeswoman says State Emergency Service volunteers will help police in searching
for the man.

Earlier today police doorknocked homes and surveyed the area by helicopter.

The man is described as 188cm, slim build, fair complexion and grey hair.

He was wearing a blue jacket with white stripes on the sleeves and black cargo pants.
