Fed: Greens name "biased" pregnancy counselling services

The Australian Greens have released a brochure naming pregnancy counselling services
they say are biased .. so women can avoid them.

The brochure follows controversy over a 50 million government package .. announced
in March .. that includes a 24-hour advice hotline for pregnant women .. and a Medicare
rebate for pregnancy-related counselling.

The government's package is intended to decrease the abortion rate.

But it's been described as biased .. because it excludes doctors with links to abortion
clinics .. but includes church-affiliated groups.

Greens' spokeswoman KERRY NETTLE says each year .. pregnant women seeking unbiased
counselling services are fed wrong information and religious ideology.
