LAS VEGAS, Jan. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Orb Networks, Inc., a leading developer of streaming media software and services, today announced that it will be demonstrating its next-generation streaming media capabilities at the 2005 International Consumer Electronics Show within the Intel Corporation booth. Orb is proud to be a participant in the Intel(R) Early Access Program and is working to optimize its technology for Intel(R) processor-based platforms. Orb is committed to driving the performance and functionality of wireless devices and PCs to greater heights. Improved capabilities of Entertainment PCs are revolutionizing the way people experience home entertainment. With new developments from Orb, Intel(R) Centrino(TM) mobile technology and Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 processor-based platforms, consumers can experience their digital home media as never before, both throughout and beyond the home.

Using any Entertainment PC, the new solution allows users to access live television, music, videos, photos and other digital content from wireless devices such as a cell phone, PDA, or notebook -- securely, through password protected accounts. Orb will conduct live demonstrations at the 2005 International CES tradeshow highlighting the benefits and capabilities of this emerging digital lifestyle. The "Entertainment On The Go" demonstrations will be held in Intel's booth #7155 throughout the show, running January 5-9 in Las Vegas.

Melissa Laird, general manager of the Solutions Enabling Division at Intel said, "Orb Network's technology compliments Intel Centrino mobile technology and Intel Pentium 4 processor-based platforms supporting Hyper-Threading Technology by giving consumers flexibility to use content on a variety of devices in the digital home."

"More than fifty percent of internet users have broadband access and there continues to be an increased amount of digital media running through the PC," said James Behrens, CEO, Orb Networks. "Working with Intel is a big step forward in getting the massive amounts of content locked up on the PC at home into the hands of mobile users around the world. We're setting the digital home free to travel with you -- anytime, anywhere."

In a separate press release issued today, Orb Networks introduced Orb Media 1.0 at the 2005 International CES tradeshow. Orb's first product introduction marks a breakthrough in streaming digital media services. Using any Web browser, Orb provides a simple, intuitive interface to the user's content located on their home PC or on the Internet allowing users to create their own "personal media portal." Users can now see their home videos, listen to their favorite songs, or watch live TV on virtually any of their Internet-connected devices.
